GOOD RIDDANCE RAT CONTROL SOLUTION
Good Riddance Pest Control provides a tried and tested complete pest control solution that is guaranteed to resolve your rat infestation. Our three step rat control solution works in as little as 3 visits. However, we provide as many visits as necessary.
INSPECT
Step 1 is the completion of a thorough internal and external inspection of the infested property. The goal of the inspection is to identify the infesting pest, discover the cause of the infestation and find any and all potential entry points in order to source how the pest entered the property in the first place.
ELIMINATE
Step 2 is to quickly and effectively eradicate the infestation using a treatment method tailored to the specific infestation. No two infestations are the same. So, in order to eliminate an infestation the treatment method needs to factor in the type of pest, the size of the infestation and where and how the infestation began.
PREVENT
Step 3 is to prevent the infestation from ever returning. Once the infestation has been successfully eradicated our technicians proof and seal all the entry points found during the inspection. And recommend other preventative measures. Additionally, we provide disinfection treatments and service contacts.
DO YOU HAVE A RAT INFESTATION?
Many customers contact us about rat control. However, more often than not they aren’t sure if they actually have a rat infestation. It can be hard for a layman to determine if a property is infested with rats. As rats are nocturnal rodents. So, they are rarely out during the daytime. However, there are numerous signs that indicate a property is infested with rats. Noticeable signs of an active rat infestation include:
- Finding rat dropping inside a property is a definitive sign of a rat infestation. Rat droppings are dark and pellet shaped. And one rat produces roughly 40 droppings per night.
- Scratching or gnawing noises. Especially in the late evening or nighttime. These noises typically originate in the walls, attic spaces, and even the floors.
- Noticing an unusual smell could be a sign of a rat infestation. In the beginning the smell may be fleeting. However, the longer the infestation goes on, the worse the smell will get.
- Finding footprints or tailmarks is a clear indication of a rodent infestation. Check the dusty areas within a property. Preferably places that are not very frequented.
- Spotting burrows in the garden indicates a rat infestation. Rats dig burrows for nesting, shelter, and for food. The burrows tend to be quite small and in areas of high vegetation, or under sheds and decking. Additionally, check around any manholes you may have in your garden. As rats tend to burrow out from there.
- Discovering oily marks along the bottom of internal walls or skirting boards is a clear indication of a rat infestation. Rats travel along walls due to poor eyesight and as a safety precaution. And since their coats secrete an oily substance, they leave this residue along the walls.
ARE RATS DANGEROUS?
Rat infestations are dangerous. Firstly, they pose a danger to humans as they can cause severe illness. Rats carry numerous diseases. Such as Leptospirosis and Salmonella. These diseases can be spread to humans if they come in contact with a rat. For example, if an infected rat bit or scratched them. Additionally, illnesses can be contracted by touching contaminated surfaces or things. Or by eating contaminated foods. And finally, humans can contract illnesses from rats by breathing in contaminated air.
Secondly, rat infestations are dangerous because rats can cause significant property damage. Rats continuously gnaw on brick, metal, wood and pipe in order to shape their teeth. As you can imagine, the constant gnawing can cause some serious damage. For example. rats gnawing on pipes or cables can result in floods or fires.
